At Thorn Workshop, I have given a lot of thought to how your jewellery is packaged. It’s important to me to strike a balance between protecting your precious jewellery and being as eco-friendly as possible.
First impressions count, and when you unbox your new piece of jewellery I want you to be delighted by jewellery itself and reassured that all of the packaging can be recycled.
Recycled and recyclable materials
All of the gift boxes I supply with my jewellery pieces contain a minimum of 40% recycled materials, with the majority containing 100% recycled materials. Should you choose not to keep your gift box, rest assured that all of my gift boxes can be fully recycled.
I carefully choose the type of insert used inside the gift box to ensure your jewellery is presented beautifully, as well as being protected on its journey to you. Sometimes this means using a foam insert which is made from plastic. The good news is that all the foam inserts I supply are fully recyclable, although I encourage you to consider reusing the insert whenever possible.
Any twine used for gift tags is either 100% recycled natural cotton or natural jute fibre—both of which are 100% biodegradable.
Responsible shipping
I send out all of my orders inside a strong, corrugated cardboard postal box that is made from a minimum of 60% recycled materials. The box is biodegradable, compostable and 100% recyclable.
I use shredded paper or tissue paper inside the postal box—both of which can be recycled.
I don’t use plastic tape on my packaging. Instead, I use kraft paper tape which is 100% recyclable.
